Local resorts encourage kids to ski and ride by offering free or low cost passes to youngsters. Most deals require the parent to buy a day ticket or season pass and there is some fine print. But here's a synopsis.

At Alta, kids 6 and younger get a season pass for $25.

At Brighton, kids 10 and under ski free with a paying adult. Get a pass daily at the ticket window or buy a season pass for $50.

Deer Valley provides a season pass for tots 1-4 with the purchase of an adult season pass.

Solitude invites kids 6 and under to ski free with a paid adult.

Kids 6 and under at Snowbird get an unlimited season pass for $25 with no blackout dates.
