Five D’s are coming to the Sandra N. Lloyd Community Center: dads, daughters, dinner, desert and dancing on Friday, Feb. 5.

Riverton continues its tradition of offering an annual daddy daughter date night near Valentine’s Day in 2016 with its event titled “Just You and I.” The annual date event is one of the best attended events the city puts on and fills up faster than any other event, according to Angela Trammell, the city’s public information officer.

“Dads and daughters wait for this event all year long because it’s a good experience for bonding,” Trammell said.

The fathers and daughters show up in their best dress, and get their picture taken with a background, much like you see at high school proms. Individuals in charge usually get the photos printed and back to the participants the same evening, so they can have a reminder of their special date, according to Trammell.

The event goes from 6 to 8 p.m., and is already full. Tickets were $20 per couple, which includes one father and one daughter. The charge for each additional daughter was $10.

Mothers and sons can look forward to Riverton’s upcoming Mother’s and Son’s night, titled “My Buddy and Me,” which will take place on Aug. 19.
