Where Music Unites: Remembering 9/11 Concert

Utah Philharmonic Orchestra

This collaborative concert will raise awareness of the needs of first responders and veterans and will connect and engage people--first responders, veterans, active duty military members, private citizens and neighbors. This event includes: Team Red, White, Blue’s 9/11 Dawn to Dusk Moving Tribute, original poetry submitted by members of the League of Utah Writers, special guest speaker, LaVar Christensen, State Representative from District 32, and the Utah Philharmonic Orchestra. Please join us for this evening of patriotism and tribute to those who serve In 1999 UPO began as a small orchestra supported by the town of Riverton. Our vision changed over the years and we have accomplished our goal of serving multiple cities throughout Utah. We are grateful to our music director and conductor Ty Turley-Trejo and our assistant conductor Denise Vallecillos The Utah Philharmonic Orchestra is a tax deductible 501(c) (3) organization, with a committed core of musicians, volunteers and resources that is fiscally sound and governed responsibly. During each season, performances include four season concerts, patriotic and civic celebrations, cultural arts festivals, and side-by-side concerts. This traveling organization performs a balance of traditional, pops, and new music and has performed from Logan to Spanish Fork, and everywhere in-between. The UPO gave performances in nine municipalities this past season which provided accessible, affordable, and educational experiences locally to residents in their neighborhoods. The UPO is grateful to sponsors: SL County Zoo, Arts, and Parks Program (ZAP), Utah Division of Arts & Museums, National Endowment for the Arts, Now Playing Utah, Motion Control, Wasatch Business and Technology Solutions, White Glove
