Riverton Senior Center White Elephant Sale & Silent Auction
The advisory council of the Riverton Senior Center is inviting the public to a White Elephant Sale and Silent Auction, May 31 and June 1, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the center, located at 12914 South Redwood Road.
The council is working to raise the funds to support the center’s programs and hopes to continue to fundraise to help get two kilns that have been donated upgraded and wired and a bike rack installed at the center.
While the facility is named the Riverton Senior Center because Riverton City donated the land it built on, advisory council members want seniors in Bluffdale and Herriman to know they are welcome at the center.
“It is your center too. Please come and utilize the facilities,” advisory council member Bob Pasela said.
During the White Elephant Sale, you can find bargains on dishes, home décor, books, knickknacks, small working appliances, linens and jewelry.
Local businesses have already donated items for the silent auction including oil changes from Kim Dahle Nisson and $200 in tire certificates from Discount Tires, along with restaurant certificates and more.
The advisory council is still looking for donations, so any local businesses that would like to help out can call the center at 385-468-3040 with their donations.
