
Missing Herriman teen
8:20 p.m. 01/09/13--UPD officers are still searching for missing Herriman 13-year-old Brooklyn Gittin.
“We have put a lot of resources into this search,” UPD spokesman Lt. Justin Hoyal said. “We’ve had 70 UPD officers, 20 UFA firefighters, K-9 units, a helicopter from the Department of Public Safety. We’ve had officers going door to door, even local residents showing up to help search. But so far, just nothing.”
Brooklyn went to bed at her home last night at 8:40 p.m. and was found to be missing at 7 a.m. today.
She appears to have left her home without her eyeglasses, coat or shoes and dressed only in pajamas.
Brooklyn was last seen wearing a grey shirt with a Lake Powell logo and black pajama pants with white Scotty dog logo.
The UPD is organizing a search for Brooklyn tomorrow morning and is asking that volunteers show up to the L.D.S. church at approx. 13700 South 5600 West at 8 a.m. Searchers will cover the Herriman area in a grid pattern.
With a storm coming, the UPD asks that the volunteers come prepared for the elements and to bring a photo I.D.
3:30 P.M. Wednesday, Jan. 9 --Brooklyn Gittins, 13 of Herriman has been missing since 8:40 p.m. last night. The Unified Police Department has issued an Endangered Missing Advisory.
Brooklyn went to bed at her home last night at 8:40 and was found to be missing at 7 a.m. today.
She appears to have left her home without her eyeglasses, coat or shoes and dressed only in pajamas.
The UPD is engaged in an ongoing search of the area but have so far, not located Brooklyn.
She was last seen wearing a grey shirt with a Lake Powell logo and black pajama pants with white Scotty dog logo.
A command post has been set up at 13900 South Friendship Way.
