Good Buy Consignment
When you purchase or sell gently used furniture and home décor at Good Buy Consignment, you will not only walk away with a good buy, you'll get to say "good bye" to all those items cluttering and collecting dust in your home.
Owners Edgardo and Lisa Garcia opened Good Buy Consignment, at 7810 South 3200 West, eight months ago. They had a surplus of furnishings from high-end rental properties, geared for business travelers, and opened the consignment shop as way to find new homes for these items and start a new business venture.
Lisa says this family-run consignment shop is different than most in that they don't sell just antiques or what is deemed as "marketable."
"We have an eclectic mix of it all," she says. "Tastes are unique and you would be surprised what is sold that I thought never would."
The diverse and matchless array of furniture and home décor found at Good Buy can add life to a home for those who like a good bargain, are on a budget or are just trying to survive this economic storm. The items are forever changing so what's there this week most likely will be replaced with a whole new set of affordable treasures next. It's not surprising with how reasonable the prices are.
"Everyone that comes in says our prices are really good and are shocked," Lisa says.
While shopping, why not bring an item or two to sell? Taking your items to a consignment shop may be a new concept for many but it's worth exploring. Lisa says she can usually give you a better return on those items than selling other ways and even save you time and time is money.
"When people have garage sales they usually get 10 cents on the dollar," she says. "And if you choose to sell them on the Internet, you're inviting the public into your home and you put your life on hold waiting for them to show up."
Lisa also encourages people to think about capitalizing on the unused items just sitting in a storage unit.
"If you are not using it, why not sell it?" Lisa says. "Especially if you can't make those monthly payments and risk your items being seized or auctioned."
People interested in selling items can bring them to Lisa during store hours Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. She will explain the terms of the contract and if you like the terms and the items are in good condition, she'll sell them for you.
Lisa and Eduardo keep a current inventory on their website www.goodbuyconsignment.com. This allows customers to view items, read common questions and answers and check out their blog. For more information, call 801-282-1495.
