There's still time to see 'Hairspray'

The Riverton Arts Council production of "Hairspray" is mid-run with lots of seats still available for August dates.

Based on the 1988 John Waters film, in "Hairspray" audiences will journey back to 1960s Baltimore and join our heroine Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big dreams and even bigger hair. She'll do whatever it takes to claim a spot on a popular television dance show, win the heart of Link Larkin, and turn the town upside down in her efforts to racially integrate television.

"Hairspray" star sJulie Carrillo as Tracy Turnblad, Josh Brodis as Link Larkin, Aleksndr Arteaga and Trent Cox as Edna Turnblad, and Sean Bishop and Johnny Barfuss as Corny Collins.

Tickets for "Hairspray" are $9 adults, $8 students, $7 children 12 and under/seniors 65+. Remaining performances are July 30 - Aug. 21. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday through Aug. 21. Evening performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday matinees begin at 1 p.m.
