OBGYN Associates
For the scores of women living along the Wasatch Front who are looking for OB/GYN care in the south part of the valley -- good news. Drs. Alisa Carlton and Carrie Sloan are here for you at OBGYN Associates, at 12176 South 1000 East, Ste. 8 in Draper.
These board-certified physicians not only offer women complete health care, they are actually taking on new patients. If you've tried finding a female doctor to help with OB/GYN care in the past few years, and you aren't an expectant mother or planning to be one, this is great news.
"It's true that there is high demand for these services, and a number of women doctors in the valley aren't taking on new patients," Carrie says. "Even though we've been practicing here in this office for almost three years, we're still able to accommodate new patients and usually book appointments just a couple of weeks out."
Alisa and Carrie treat the total patient, with both internal and external services. As physicians, they provide annual health maintenance examinations, pap smears, breast exams, prenatal care (including deliveries at St. Marks Hospital), and deal with some infertility issues. Menopause and other issues facing women as they age can also be addressed.
Their practice also offers laser treatments for hair removal and skin rejuvenation, and soon an esthetician will be added to the staff for facials and chemical peels.
"We feel like we are filling a real need in the Draper community and surrounding areas," Alisa says. "We love being in this part of the valley and we're happy that we can take new patients whose needs we can meet."
Because both physicians are also mothers, they can relate to the challenges that today's women face -- raising children in the home, working outside of it, and the related pressures those roles bring on.
"We are committed to providing patients with the best women's health care," Carrie says. "We encourage a partnership with our patients to ensure that their needs are met. We are happy to meet with patients before or at the beginning of their pregnancy so that they can get to know us."
"I think the thing that we hear the most is that people are so happy that we're here," Alisa says. "They're so glad to find our office in the south end of the valley."
The practice's website, at www.draperobgyn.com, can answer a lot of questions that patients and prospective patients have about the physicians, the office staff and the services offered. The practice accepts most major insurances other than Intermountain, and office hours are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
