Sounds of the Season to begin rehearsals
One of the most entertaining holiday traditions in South Jordan is back and better than ever—the Sounds of the Season Chorale and Orchestra. Now in its seventh season, this popular holiday program features volunteer singers and instrumentalists drawn from the South Jordan area, presenting a variety of traditional carols, holiday classics and guest performances from such groups as South Jordan Idol, the Bingham English Hand Bell Ringers, the An Dragon Celtic Dancers and the Bountiful Bells.
Singers and instrumentalists are invited to come and join in celebrating the holiday season. The only qualifications for joining the now 130-strong chorale are enthusiasm and dedication—no auditions or tryouts are required. Male voices are especially needed.
Rehearsals begin Tuesday, Aug. 30, at the South Jordan Community Center, 10778 South Redwood Road, from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. and run every Tuesday evening through early December.
In addition to concert nights at Bingham High School on Dec. 8 and 9, the chorale and orchestra will perform at the Assembly Hall on Temple Square Nov. 26.
The chorale and orchestra is directed by Marlene Stanley. For more information on joining the chorale and orchestra, contact Stanley at 801-550-4321.
