Riverton High presents “Annie Get Your Gun”

Annie, get your gun, and get on over to Riverton High School where the Performing Arts Department will be presenting Irving Berlin’s “Annie Get Your Gun” Nov. 17-21 at 7 p.m.

When Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show comes to town, Annie Oakley, a gun-toting tomboy, falls in love with the show’s sharpshooter, Frank Butler. Unfortunately, Frank wants a more feminine woman and one that can’t shoot better than him. This fictionalized story of the real life romance between Annie Oakley and Frank Butler is a western adventure and a musical battle of the sexes.

The musical has appeared on Broadway numerous times since its original debut in 1946. Most recently, Bernadette Peters and country music superstar Reba McEntire have starred in this Wild West, sharp shooting musical.

Under the direction of Clin Eaton and Annie Nielsen, a cast of 60 performing arts students and a full student orchestra will present this famous musical for the community.

Tickets are $7 for students (high school age and younger) and $8 for adults. Tickets are be available in the Riverton High School Main Office, 12476 South Silverwolf Way (2700 West), Riverton, or at the door the night of the show.
