Toddler Time. Children must be accompanied by a caring adult willing to participate. Join us for songs, rhymes and a short story. Learn how to prepare your child for language and reading in a fun environment. Tickets are available at the information desk 15 minutes before class starts.

Teen Advisory Board Meeting. We need motivated, ambitious and service-minded teens to join our teen advisory board. You can help at teen library programs, suggest programming ideas, meet new friends and earn volunteer hours. Please register online, if possible.

Storytime Break: Free Play. In place of our regular storytimes this week, we will be having Free Play time. Come play with our toys and puppets, or enjoy a coloring sheet. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Great Reads for Girls: A mother/daughter book club. Join us for lively discussions, activities, friendship and fun! This month’s book is “Out of My Mind” by Sharon M. Draper. Registration required for girls either online or at the information desk; mothers need not register. Pick up your "Great Reads" booklist at the Herriman Library reference desk for the complete reading schedule. Please note age restrictions.

“The Shoemaker and the Elves” Puppet Show. The beloved children's classic. The poor shoemaker and his wife have only enough leather for one more pair of shoes, and not a single penny in the house. When the magical elves lend a helping hand, the old couple's fortunes take a turn for the better.
Feb. 13, 4 p.m.Ages 5 to 9
Tales w/ TAU. Woof! Woof! Kids can improve their literacy and social skills by reading to a furry friend. Kids may sign up for a session to read with Abbey Lynn, a certified therapy dog. She’s a Golden Retriever that loves to be read to. Visit the reference desk starting at 3:45 p.m. to pick up a free ticket for a 15-minute reading slot. Tickets will be issued on a first come, first-served basis.
Feb . 16, 6 p.m.Teens
Japanese Pop Culture and Teen Anime Club. This month we are making glass marble magnets so you can decorate your lockers or refrigerators with your favorite anime & manga characters. We will have a few deleted manga titles & Japanese pop culture magazines available for you to find pictures for your 1" glass marble magnets. You can also bring your own drawings or materials for pictures. We will be voting for our favorite characters – be ready to campaign for your candidate. Please register online. Cosplay is encouraged!

After-Valentine’s Day Teen Lock-in Party. Valentine's Day is over – are you for or against it? Come to our lock-in party to voice your opinions of this holiday; create your own customized buttons and decorate cookies, plus other fun activities. Online registration is required, plus a permission slip signed by both teen and a parent required at the door for admittance to the event. Limited to 50 teens.

Tiny Tot Tales. This is a beginning storytime and children must be accompanied by an adult. Parents, please plan to participate with your children. Registration is required, but all spring sessions are currently full. However, we will have five storytime passes at the Information Desk. Each pass will allow one unregistered family into storytime on that day. Passes are available 15 minutes before each storytime begins.

“Princess and the Dragon.” Utah Puppet Theater presents “Princess and the Dragon.” A fiery dragon is making trouble in the kingdom, and all the princes turn out to try their hand in the adventure. But it is the spunky princess of the castle who comes up with a very unusual method of getting rid of the pesky beast.

Sisters Alex, Stevie and Joey take turns telling about their lives, including their long line of ancestors, plays, creative family dinners, marshmallow toes, swearing in Shakespeare and their Sisters Club.
